MISSION: To present members an opportunity ensure good governance of OPD by representative
GOALS:
  1. Develop a full slate of quality candidates on-time for the national elections.
  2. Maintain information on this portion of the website at least as frequently as described by the Update Calendar.
PLANS and ACTIVITIES: The following is a typical annual election preparation schedule:

July 15 OPD Chair Receives a letter advising appointment of a Nominating Committee.
July 25 OPD Chair Submits Nominating Committee appointments to Society Headquarters.
July 31 Nominating Chair Receives letter and advisory materials on selection of Division's election slate.
October 15 Nominating Chair
  1. Must identify a slate of OPD members as candidates for each vacant Officer and Executive Committee position according to the requirements specified in the Division’s Bylaws.
  2. Must notify each candidate and acquire their acceptance to run.
  3. Should inform candidates of contacted by Society Headquarters regarding biographical information and candidate photo.
November 20 Nominating Chair Must report Executive Committee approved election slate to Society Headquarters.
December 1 Society Headquarters Must have received all biographical information and candidate photos.
December 15 Nominating Chair Receives sample ballots for approval.
